Introduction

Product information:

This software installs a bsd compliant remote shell daemon / service on computers running Microsoft WIN32 operating systems. It enables access to other (remote) computers. Access to remote computers is extended in such a way, that processes can be placed on remote hosts. These remote processes are running in a controllable, specified user's context.
This functionality is usually standard on UNIX flavoured systems but is not intended to be supported by Microsoft. It therefore is a powerful tool for starting processes remotely within an Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP cluster, for example, but it also especially very helpful for the interoperability between UNIX and Windows clusters.

This software has been tested on Windows 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0 / Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

This version is BSD compliant and therefore Stdin, Stdout and Stderr of the created process are redirected to the calling process (the rsh client). Under Windows NT/2000/XP, a process will be placed by the RSHD/SERVICE under a user account and will run in its context.
